The Cartersville Hurricanes had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Sonoraville 46-43. For Cartersville, this counts as revenge for the 66-42 defeat Sonoraville walked away with the last time they faced one another back in December of 2022.
Cartersville can attribute much of their success to Ansley Griffin, who scored 12 points along with four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaytlin Arnold, who scored 11 points.
Cartersville's victory bumped their record up to 3-5. As for Sonoraville, their loss was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-9.
Cartersville will take on Jackson in a holiday battle at 5:30 p.m. on Monday at. Jackson is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling. Sonoraville will be home for the holidays to greet Adairsville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Adairsville presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Sonoraville in Georgia (Adairsville is ranked 137th, while Sonoraville is ranked 379th).
