MaxPreps is pleased to announce that the
Camas (Wash.) Papermakers have officially been named to the 12th Annual MaxPreps Soccer Tour of Champions presented by the Army National Guard, which is in its sixth year honoring girls soccer.
This is one of the most prestigious team awards in all of high school sports and it is an exclusive honor reserved for the top 100 teams nationwide. In order to be eligible, a team must win a state championship and be highly ranked in the
MaxPreps National Rankings. For soccer, only 20 of the country's best are invited and with nearly 34,000 competing varsity teams. This puts the Papermakers ahead of 99.9 percent of their opponents!
On Saturday, Nov. 19 the Camas Papermakers completed an undefeated season (21-0-1) with a 3-0 shutout win over West Valley for the
2016 WIAA Division 4A state championship, which is the school's second girls soccer state title. Maddie Kemp, Sabine Postma and Morgan Winston each scored a goal for Camas, and goalkeeper Julia Coombs came up with four saves in the state final victory.

En route to their first appearance in the state championship game since 2005, the Papermakers earned three postseason shutout wins over Kamiak (4-0), Woodinville (1-0) and Skyline (1-0).
Overall, the team posted 21 wins, 20 shutouts, and outscored its opponents 89-2 before claiming the state crown. Camas girls soccer finished the season ranked
No.1 in the Class 4A,
No.1 in the state and
No.1 in the MaxPreps National Rankings.
These incredible season achievements have earned the Camas Papermakers an invitation to the 12th Annual Tour of Champions.
Please join us as we celebrate with the girls soccer team, coaching staff, students and fans on Thursday, Jan. 19 at 5:30 p.m. in the gym. The girls soccer and football team has been selected and both will be recognized during a community celebration.
