Yates has gone 8-1 against Washington recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Saturday. The Lions will host the Eagles at 12:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Yates has eight straight wins, Washington has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Yates is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They blew past Northside 63-0 on Thursday. Fans of the Lions have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 20+ points.

Chris Brown had another great game (as he tends to do), throwing for 305 yards and four touchdowns while completing 83.3% of his passes, and also punching in one TD on the ground. That's the most passing touchdowns he has posted since back in August. Yates' leading receiver Jordan Simmons was Brown's top target yet again, picking up 163 receiving yards and one score.
Special teams also played a big role in the game for Yates, adding 14 points to the final score. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Simmons, who ran a punt back for a touchdown.
Yates' defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB four times. Leading the way was Orie Lemon with two sacks. He is on a roll when it comes to sacks, as he's now posted at least one in each of the last three games he's played.
The home team had won the previous five meetings between Washington and North Forest, and North Forest kept the tradition alive. The Eagles were outmatched by the Bulldogs and fell 38-8. The Eagles were down 32-0 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.
Washington's loss dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Yates, their victory bumped their record up to 8-0.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Saturday's contest: Yates has been on an offensive roll this season, having averaged 384.9 total yards per game. It's a different story for Washington, though, as they've been averaging only 180.1 total yards. Will Yates be able to march up the field at their leisure again, or will the Eagles flip the script?
Everything came up roses for Yates against Washington when the teams last played back in November of 2024, as the squad secured a 44-0 win. Will the Lions repeat their success, or do the Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
