The Mt. Pleasant Tigers will head out on the road to square off against the Lewis County Panthers at 6:15 p.m. on Thursday. Mt. Pleasant will be strutting in after a victory while Lewis County will be coming in after a defeat.
Having struggled with seven losses in a row, Mt. Pleasant turned things around against Eagleville on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Eagles by a score of 5-2.
Hunter Holt made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over 6.2 innings while giving up just two earned runs off seven hits. That's the most strikeouts he has posted over his last four games. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. He has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last five times he's played.

In other batting news, Zion Hollis was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Carson Howell was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Lewis County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They lost 11-1 to Riverside.
Lewis County saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was James Hamm, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one double.
Mt. Pleasant's record is now 7-16. As for Lewis County, their loss dropped their record down to 4-15.
Mt. Pleasant's speedy runners might be the difference in Thursday's contest. The Tigers have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Lewis County, though, as they've been averaging only 1.1 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Mt. Pleasant continue to outrun the ball?
Mt. Pleasant couldn't quite get it done against Lewis County when the teams last played back in April of 2025 as they fell 8-5. Can the Tigers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
