The Russell Red Devils lost against the Greenup County Musketeers back in February of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Russell received a tough blow as they fell 66-49 to Greenup County. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Russell has scored all season.
Despite the loss, Russell saw an underclassman step up: Caleb Rimmer scored ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Gabe Pridemore, who scored eight points.
This is the second loss in a row for Russell and nudges their season record down to 7-6. As for Greenup County, the victory got them back to even at 9-9.
Russell won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Wheelersburg at 6:30 p.m. on January 13th. Wheelersburg has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 183 points over their last three games.
