The Cardozo Clerks have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine matches by 21 points or more this season. They claimed a resounding 81-37 win over Woodson on the road. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 61-31.
Cardozo's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Nasir Slater led the charge by scoring 19 points along with nine rebounds and four steals. Those nine rebounds set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Cameron Young, who scored 19 points along with four steals.
The victory makes it two in a row for Cardozo and bumps their season record up to 12-1. As for Woodson, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-9.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cardozo will be staying on the road on Monday to face off against Bell at 7:00 p.m. on January 8th. Bell has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Woodson, they will head out on the road to face off against Ron Brown at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in District of Columbia (Ron Brown is ranked 30th, while Woodson is ranked 29th).
