If the Pinole Valley Spartans were feeling good off their 71-38 takedown of the Stagg Delta Kings on Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Pinole Valley fell just short of Novato by a score of 65-62. Pinole Valley was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Novato apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in November of 2021.
Several Spartans players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Chriseanie Nealy, who scored 21 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Romyn Waugh, who scored 14 points along with six rebounds.
Pinole Valley has been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season. As for Novato, their win bumped their record up to 4-6.
Pinole Valley's road trip will continue as they head out to face El Cerrito at 7:00 p.m. on December 19th. El Cerrito will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak. As for Novato, their homestand continues as they prepare to take on Albany at 7:00 p.m. on December 19th. Albany is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last four games.
