The Monessen Greyhounds entered their tilt with the West Greene Pioneers with seven consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with eight. Monessen secured a 45-39 W over the Pioneers on Thursday. That's another feather in the cap for Monessen, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Monessen's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Sidney Campbell, who scored 13 points along with three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Hailey Johnson, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 15 rebounds.
Monessen is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-3 record this season. As for West Greene, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-12.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Monessen's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Raiders at 12:00 p.m. on February 3rd.
