The Maconaquah Braves lost to the Hamilton Heights Huskies back in February of 2015, but the Maconaquah Braves didn't allow the Hamilton Heights Huskies the same satisfaction on Saturday. Maconaquah came out on top against Hamilton Heights by a score of 62-54. Given Maconaquah's advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 108th, while Hamilton Heights is ranked 217th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Maconaquah was led to victory by Fuddy Kile and Josiah Ball. Kile dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds, while Ball scored 30 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. That makes it five consecutive games in which Ball has scored at least a third of Maconaquah's points. Another player making a difference was MJ Ellis, who scored two points along with seven rebounds.
Maconaquah is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season. As for Hamilton Heights, their loss dropped their record down to 7-9.
Maconaquah will look to defend their home court on Friday against Lewis Cass at 7:45 p.m. As for Hamilton Heights, they will head out on the road to face off against Hagerstown at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Hagerstown focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 20 on Saturday.
