Towanda is 1-9 against Wellsboro since January of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Towanda Black Knights will be home for the holidays to greet the Wellsboro Hornets at 7:30 p.m.
Last Friday, Towanda was the victim of a rough 67-42 defeat at the hands of Muncy. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Towanda has scored all season.
Meanwhile, Wellsboro strolled past Athens with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 46-32. The win made it back-to-back wins for Wellsboro.
Towanda bumped their record down to 1-4 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.3 points per game. As for Wellsboro, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
