The Foard Tigers will look to defend their home court on Friday against the Bandys Trojans at 8:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the pair posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Last Friday, Foard lost to Maiden at home by a decisive 71-55 margin.
Despite their defeat, Foard saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Holden Caldwell, who scored 18 points along with 5 assists, was perhaps the best of all. The team also got some help courtesy of Graham Orndoff, who scored 15 points along with 7 rebounds and 3 steals.
Meanwhile, Bandys put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. Everything went their way against St. Stephens as Bandys made off with a 74-50 victory. The result was nothing new for Bandys, who have now won three contests by 24 points or more so far this season.
Bandys' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Landon Vaughan led the charge by scoring 22 points along with 8 rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Vaughan has scored at least 25% of Bandys' points. Another player making a difference was Micah Slaughter, who scored 18 points along with 3 steals.
Foard's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Bandys, their win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-0.
Foard came up short against Bandys in their previous meeting back in November, falling 78-68. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Bandys' Vaughan , who dropped a double-double on 41 points and 15 rebounds. Now that Foard knows the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? There's only one way to find out.
