Baseball Recap: Truman Picks Up Eighth Consecutive Win

Truman entered their tilt with Raytown on Tuesday with seven consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with eight. They blew past the Bluejays 11-1. Considering the Patriots have won 13 contests by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Caden Deeney was incredible, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with two stolen bases and three runs. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in April. Nich Dawson was another key player, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Truman pushed their record up to 21-13 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.2 runs over those games. As for Raytown, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-16.

Looking ahead, Truman will take on Fort Osage at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Raytown, they will square off against Platte County at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Pirates' pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so the Bluejays' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
