Volleyball Recap: Cleveland Takes a Loss

If Cleveland was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Southeast Raleigh on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Rams fell just short of the J.H. Rose Rampants by a score of 3-2 on Wednesday. The Rams haven't had much luck with the Rampants recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

While Cleveland ultimately came up short, they really made J.H. Rose work, particularly in the fourth set. The final score came out to 19-25, 25-17, 24-26, 27-25, 15-11.

Despite the loss, Cleveland still got an impressive performance from Addison Evans, who had 16 digs, six aces, and one block. Evans has been hot for a while, having also posted 18 or more assists the last 42 times she's played. Jolene L oddo was another key player, getting 14 kills, four digs, and three blocks.

Caroline Bayes was nothing short of spectacular for J.H. Rose: she had 25 digs and two aces.

The loss was their first on the road , dropping their record down to 9-2. As for J.H. Rose, their victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-2.

Cleveland wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 win against Smithfield-Selma on the 11th. As for J.H. Rose, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 3-0 victory against Jacksonville on the 11th.
