On Wednesday, Vista Murrieta got the win against Murrieta Valley by a conclusive 16-7. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Broncos.
Meanwhile, Murrieta Mesa had already won seven in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10.6 runs) and they went ahead and made it eight on Wednesday. They were the clear victors by a 15-1 margin over the Golden Bears.
Lilly Hauser made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two runs and two doubles. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high.
In other pitching news, Savannah Demary looked comfortable as she pitched two innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.
Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Taelyn Holley, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, four runs, and three RBI. Another player making a difference was Kenzie Farrier, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs, one double, and one RBI.
Murrieta Mesa's victory was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 14-6-1. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.9 runs on average over those games. As for Vista Murrieta, their victory bumped their record up to 13-11.
