Baseball Recap: Saddleback's Win Ends Three-Game Losing Streak on the Road

Saddleback hadn't done well against Godinez Fundamental recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. The Roadrunners came out on top against the Grizzlies by a score of 6-3. This was a revenge game for the Roadrunners: when they faced off against the Grizzlies last Tuesday, they had to take a 16-0 loss.

Diego Enriquez was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over seven innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Saddleback is 5-0-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 4-8 otherwise. Enriquez was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ricardo Marquez, who scored a run while going 1-for-4. Jorge Esquivel also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Saddleback's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 9-8-1. As for Godinez Fundamental, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-10.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Saddleback will head out to take on Santiago at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The Cavaliers will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Roadrunners surely won't give up without a fight. As for Godinez Fundamental, they will venture away from home to challenge Santa Ana at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
