Basketball Recap: Trinity Academy Starts Season with Victory on the Road

Trinity Academy had to kick off their season on the road on Friday, but they showed no ill effects. They enjoyed a cozy 51-32 win over the Thales Academy Rolesville Knights. The Tigers haven't had any issues with the Knights recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Thales Academy Rolesville's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Elizabeth Rowland, who posted eight points and 11 rebounds. Rowland is on a roll when it comes to boards, as she's now pulled down 11 or more in each of the last four games she's played dating back to last season. The team also got some help courtesy of Mary Niebauer, who put up ten points and five rebounds.

Thales Academy Rolesville now has a losing record of 1-2.

Looking ahead, Trinity Academy will be defending their home court for the first time this season when they go up against Ravenscroft at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Thales Academy Rolesville, they will hit the road for the first time this season to square off against Wilson Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
