Jesus Lopez made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out seven batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and five unearned) runs off eight hits. Those seven strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in five of his seven plate appearances with four runs, two stolen bases, and two RBI. He is becoming a predictor of Cobre's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 5-1 (and 4-7 when he doesn't).

Hatch Valley's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Cobre hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .358.
