2A District 2 recap Sept. 26, 2012
Owensboro Catholic extended the longest winning streak in 2A District 2 this week by beating Butler County, 45-0. The win marks fifth in a row for the the Aces.
Todd County Central took down McLean County 53-7 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Hancock County's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Koert Morris threw for 33 yards and Troy Lasley had 16 yards receiving. On the ground Justin Hamilton chipped in 173 yards. Desmond Clarkson helped Hancock County's passing attack out by catching one ball for nine yards.
Hancock County's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Hornets feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Morris has thrown for 561 yards and six touchdowns this season, while Beau Case has six catches for 239 yards. Hamilton leads the league in rushing with 585 yards.
Two of the top units in the league will face off this week when the Hornets take on the Cougars. Hancock County's offense has scored 196 points this season, good for No. 1 in the league, while McLean County has allowed only 297 on the year.
A big matchup in 2A District 2 this week will be when Owensboro Catholic takes on the Rebels. At the moment, John Edge's team is in first, while Todd County Central is in fourth.
Bryan Jones's team led the league in scoring this week after putting up 53 points on Marshall Enoch's team.
