The James River HomeSchool Eagles will challenge the Fredericksburg V Victory on Monday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
James River HomeSchool will roll into the game after a wild two-game stretch: they didn't score any runs back in March, then bounced right back against The New Community School two weeks ago. The Eagles blew past the Sabers 16-4. Considering the Eagles have won three matchups by more than 11 runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
Meanwhile, while Fredericksburg V put up plenty of runs on Thursday, the same can't be said for Quantico. The Victory put the hurt on the Warriors with a sharp 15-0 victory. That 15-run margin sets a new team best for the Victory this season.
Raul Garza was a major factor no matter where he played. He pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two runs and two RBI.
In other pitching news, Trace Thompson looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.
Back at the plate, Jackson Niesent was a standout: he went a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, one run, and one double. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Adam DeWald, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs and one RBI.
Fredericksburg V always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .559. They are a perfect 6-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Fredericksburg V has been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-6 record this season. James River HomeSchool might still be hurting after the 18-6 loss they got from Fredericksburg V when the teams last played back in April of 2025.
