It was a good run, but Plainville unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-match winning streak on Monday. They fell 2-0 to the Thomas More Prep-Marian Monarchs. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Monarchs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in September.

Plainville was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the first set very close. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 25-13.

Plainville's defeat dropped their record down to 13-18. As for Thomas More Prep-Marian, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 25-13 record this season.

Plainville didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-0 victory against Ell-Saline on the 20th. As for Thomas More Prep-Marian, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 2-0 win against Syracuse on the 20th.
