Union Grove was led to victory by Jordan Brooks and Nadea Smith. Brooks scored 17 points along with 5 steals, while Smith dropped a double-double on 15 points and 11 rebounds. The game was Brooks' third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Julia Baker, who scored 4 points along with 3 steals.
Despite the loss, Griffin still got an impressive performance from Camiya Starks, who scored 15 points.
Union Grove's win bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Griffin, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.
Union Grove will face off against Veterans at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Griffin, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Valor Christian at 11:30 a.m. on Friday.
