There's no place like home for the TECH Freire Charter Dragons, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Tuesday. They blew past Freire Charter School Wilmington 82-33 at home on Friday. The victory was all the more spectacular given TECH Freire Charter's disadvantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 397th in Pennsylvania, while the Dragons are ranked 60th in Delaware).
It was another big night for Markel Moran, who scored 27 points. Another player making a difference was Omar Leach, who scored 14 points.
TECH Freire Charter's victory bumped their record up to 14-5. As for Freire Charter School Wilmington, they dropped their record down to 1-12 with that defeat, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season.
TECH Freire Charter will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Owls at 3:15 p.m. Thomas A. Edison is coming into the contest hot, having won their last three games. As for Freire Charter School Wilmington, they will head out on the road to challenge the Tigers at 4:45 p.m. on Friday.
