Sunset is 9-1 against Kimball since February of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Sunset Bison will head out on the road to challenge the Kimball Knights at 7:30 p.m. Sunset will be strutting in after a win while Kimball will be coming in after a loss.
In what's become a running theme this season, Sunset gave their fans yet another huge victory on Wednesday. They were the clear victor by a 52-28 margin over Molina. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win Sunset has posted since November 28, 2023.
Margaret Ajayi was the offensive standout of the game as she scored 18 points along with seven rebounds. Yanet Lemus was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 11 points and 13 rebounds.
Meanwhile, things could have been worse for Kimball, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 52-35 loss to South Oak Cliff on Wednesday.
Sunset's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-8. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.3 points per game. As for Kimball, their loss dropped their record down to 2-10.
Everything came up roses for Sunset against Kimball in their previous meeting back in December of 2023 as the squad secured a 52-15 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Sunset since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
