The Unatego Spartans's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fifth straight loss. They were beaten by Cooperstown 72-42. Unatego was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 41-20.
Charlie Lambert was his usual excellent self, shooting 5-for-6 from beyond the arc and dropping a double-double on 21 points and ten assists for Cooperstown. Lambert is crushing the steal category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Brody Murdock, who scored 17 points along with eight rebounds.
Unatego's loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Cooperstown, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 9-8.
Unatego will face off against the at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Deposit-Hancock focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 last Friday. As for Cooperstown, they will be playing at home against the Marauders at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
