The Tocoi Creek Toros can now show off nine landslide victories after their most recent matchup on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Nease with a sharp 51-28 win. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory Tocoi Creek has posted since December 18, 2023.
Gabi Iturralde was her usual excellent self, scoring 19 points along with six steals. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last ten games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Audrey Beyer, who scored 14 points along with two steals.
Despite the loss, Nease saw an underclassman step up: Audrey Rollins scored six points along with seven steals. Rollins hasn't dropped below two steals for five straight games.
Tocoi Creek is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-4 record this season. As for Nease, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-9.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Tocoi Creek will face off against Providence School at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a three-game winning streak alive. Nease won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Hilliard at 7:30 p.m. on January 17th.
