Baseball Recap: Make It Four in a Row for Onaga

Onaga came tearing into Monday's match with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10.3 runs), and they left with even more momentum. Everything went their way against the Centralia Panthers as they made off with a 14-4 victory. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 15-4 on Monday.

Jackson Kolterman made a splash no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out eight over four innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with one home run and four RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, Casen Hutfles was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. He has become a key player for Onaga: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 3-4 otherwise. Cameron Kramer was another key player, scoring two runs while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

Onaga always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .571. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Onaga's record is now 6-4. As for Centralia, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Onaga will head out to take on Frankfort at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Centralia, they will venture away from home to challenge St. Mary's Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
