Putnam County has won three straight games at home, while Lamar County has won three straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Friday. The War Eagles will welcome the Trojans at 7:30 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
On Friday, Putnam County blew past Towers, posting a 40-3 win.

Branan Griffin looked great while leading his team to the win, rushing for 76 yards and a pair of scores on only six carries. What's more, he racked up 14.6 passer rating, the most he's had since back in November of 2024.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Lamar County). They really took it to Utopian Academy for the Arts for the full four quarters, racking up a 61-6 victory. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 47-0.
Putnam County better keep an eye on Jayden Hillman. He was instrumental in Lamar County's win, rushing for 95 yards and one touchdown on only five carries. Hillman's longest rush was for an incredible 70 yards.
Lamar County was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 293 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 160 rushing yards in four consecutive matchups.
Lamar County didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Kaden Carter and Armoni Reid. Reid got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Putnam County's win bumped their record up to 5-3. As for Lamar County, their victory bumped their record up to 7-0.
Friday's game might be decided on the ground. Putnam County has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 179.9 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Lamar County struggles in that department as they've been averaging 200.3 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's contest turns into a tough fight on the ground.
