Their game two weeks ago wasn't at all kind to Sterling, but their most recent contest may have softened the blow. Everything came up roses for them against Valley on Friday as the team secured a 52-6 win. That result was just more of the same for Sterling, who also won the last time these teams played.
Sterling's offense came in ready to rumble, picking up 45 points in the first half. Meanwhile, Valley couldn't get anything going offensively, leaving the score at 45-0 heading into the break. The Sterling defense stood its ground in the third quarter, giving up 6 and all but finishing the matchup. The victory bumped Sterling's record up to 2-3. Valley are still searching for that first win as they fell to 0-5.
Sterling will be staying on the road next week, facing off against Brush. Both of those teams seek to continue their momentum from their previous wins. As for Valley, they will face off against Weld Central. These teams both have had a rocky road up to this point with five consecutive losses apiece.
