For the first time this season, Agoura will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. They are taking a road trip to challenge the Santa Paula Cardinals at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Agoura will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each game than the last.
Agoura is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They claimed a resounding 52-7 victory over Buena. The team's explosion on offense also rewarded the Chargers with their most commanding win of the season.

Gavin Gray continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, throwing for 440 yards and six TDs while picking up 13.3 yards per attempt, and also rushing for 56 yards. Thanks to that big game, he is now up to 17 passing touchdowns on the season. Anderson Mercer was in the mix too, providing Agoura with two touchdowns.
Agoura didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Cole Ziegler. Ziegler is also crushing it when it comes to total tackles: he's made at least seven every time he's taken the field this season.
Meanwhile, Santa Paula had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 34 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Warriors 43-10. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 28-3.
Santa Paula's win came from a few key players Agoura will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Rene Vega, who threw for 204 yards and a pair of TDs while completing 86.7% of his passes, and also rushed for 42 yards. Sebastian Alcantar was another key player, rushing for 82 yards and two scores on only eight carries.
Agoura now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Santa Paula, their record now sits at 4-1.
Friday's contest will pit two of the most dominant signal callers against one another: Gray and Vega. Gray just won't slow down this season and has thrown 17 touchdowns (and and only 3 pick) while averaging 311.8 passing yards per game. Vega has been a dominant force too and has thrown 8 touchdowns while averaging 150.8 passing yards per game.
