Mountain View is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to ten runs on Thursday, they were much more limited against Hanover Area on Tuesday. They came up short against the Hawkeyes, falling 11-1.
Mountain View saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Addison Kilmer, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.
Blue Ridge came out on top against Forest City on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive eight-run third inning. The Red Raiders put the hurt on the Foresters with a sharp 12-6 victory.
Trista Laude spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and three unearned) runs on ten hits.
On the hitting side, Abby Piechocki was incredible, going 2-for-5 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Hailey Champang, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run.
Blue Ridge kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in April.
Blue Ridge is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 8-12 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.0 runs over those games. As for Mountain View, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-9.
Mountain View got the 'W' in their previous meeting back in April against Blue Ridge by a conclusive 13-7 score. Will the Eagles repeat their success, or do the Red Raiders have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
