The Bear River Bruins will challenge the Linden Lions at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Bear River is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. They put the hurt on Bret Harte with a sharp 9-1 victory. The win was familiar territory for the Bruins, who have now won seven games in a row.
AnaMarin Hemings made a splash while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out nine over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two runs.

In other batting news, Ella Bailey was incredible, going 2-for-3 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Ella Northup also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.
Meanwhile, Linden won against Big Valley Christian on Thursday with 16 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Wednesday. The Lions' pitcher stepped up to hand Colfax a 16-0 shutout. The contest marked the Lions' most dominant victory of the season.
Cambel Dunn tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run over five innings pitched.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Olivia Fears, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, four runs, and two stolen bases. Mia Ortega was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.
Bear River's record now sits at 16-8. As for Linden, their record is now 18-6.
Friday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Bear River hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .343. However, it's not like Linden struggles in that department as they've averaged .360. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Bear River might still be hurting after the 8-1 defeat they got from Linden in their previous matchup back in March of 2024. Can the Bruins avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
