Two Rivers hasn't had much luck against New Holstein recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Raiders will head out to challenge the Huskies at 4:30 p.m. Two Rivers' pitching crew has only allowed 3.9 runs per game this season, so New Holstein's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
Two Rivers might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 3-2 to Valders, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior.
Anna Klein was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: she struck out nine batters over six innings while giving up three earned runs off five hits (and not a single walk). She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Two Rivers saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Reagan Stalter, who went 1-for-3 with one triple. That triple marked the first that Stalter has hit this season.
Meanwhile, New Holstein posted their closest win since May 27, 2025 on Saturday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Oakfield 12-10. The Huskies haven't had any issues with the Oaks recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.
The team relied heavily on Makya Pendleton, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and one stolen base. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2025. Delaney Goebel was another key player, going 1-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one run.
New Holstein's victory bumped their record up to 8-2. As for Two Rivers, their loss dropped their record down to 8-5.
Two Rivers couldn't quite get it done against New Holstein in their previous matchup on April 7th as they fell 4-1. Can the Raiders avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
