2A District 2 recap Oct. 9, 2012
Owensboro Catholic extended the longest winning streak in 2A District 2 this week by beating Hancock County, 31-12. The victory was the seventh in a row for the team.
Union County took down McLean County 39-14 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Hancock County's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Hornets feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Koert Morris has thrown for 738 yards and 10 touchdowns this season, while Beau Case has six catches for 239 yards. Justin Hamilton leads the league in rushing with 782 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when the Braves take on Owensboro Catholic. Union County is currently in fourth, while John Edge's team is in first.
There should be lots of points scored when the Hornets and Todd County Central face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, Hancock County comes in having scored 261 this season, while the Rebels have scored 22. Chris Morris' team scored 12 points last week as it lost to the Aces.
Butler County and Todd County Central played the most hotly contested game in 2A District 2 this week, with Butler County eventually emerging with a 25-23 victory.
