The Happy Camp Indians will head out on the road to face off against the Butte Valley Bulldogs at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Happy Camp focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 19 on Tuesday.
Even though Hayfork scored an imposing 57 points, Happy Camp still came out on top. Happy Camp came out on top in a nail-biter against Hayfork and snuck past 59-57. The win was just business as usual for Happy Camp, who after three games remain undefeated this season.
Happy Camp's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Luis Osorio, who scored 21 points along with six rebounds and five assists, and Michael Hauki, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 16 rebounds. Osorio is absolutely dominating the steal category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Tyler Hahn was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Meanwhile, Butte Valley pushed their score all the way to 55 on Saturday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 68-55 to Maxwell.
Happy Camp's victory was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-0. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.0 points per game. As for Butte Valley, they now have a losing record at 3-4.
Happy Camp was able to grind out a solid victory over Butte Valley in their previous matchup back in January, winning 51-40. Will Happy Camp repeat their success, or does Butte Valley have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
