Erin Fawkes made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out 12 over seven innings pitched. Those 12 strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two doubles and one RBI.
In other batting news, Aniyah Venegas was excellent, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases and two RBI. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was Rilynn Daleman, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.
Meanwhile, Hanford West put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They walked away with an 8-3 win over Hanford.
Rylan Montoya spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on three hits and racked up six Ks. Those hits marked the first that she allowed this season.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Adyson Owens, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Kennidy Perryman, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.
Hanford West was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .429. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Hanford only posted a batting average of .042.
Golden West's victory bumped their record up to 6-3. As for Hanford West, they pushed their record up to 5-0 with the win, which was their third straight at home.
Tuesday's match will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Golden West hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .336. However, it's not like Hanford West struggles in that department as they've averaged .366. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
