Henderson has gone 8-2 against Spring Hill recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Lions will be playing at home against the Panthers at 12:00 p.m. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.
While Henderson's win against Pine Tree wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Lions narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Pirates 3-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Lions have posted since February 19th.
Jacie Boothe spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on six hits and racked up six Ks.
Meanwhile, Spring Hill entered their tilt with Carthage on Tuesday with 11 consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with 12. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 7-6 W against the Bulldogs. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Panthers have posted against the Bulldogs since March 31, 2023.
Spring Hill also let their pitcher toss all eight innings and she was also dialed-in: Sarah Beall gave up six earned runs on 12 hits and racked up six Ks.
At the plate, Lila Peters was excellent, getting on base in all five of her plate appearances with three runs, three RBI, and two doubles. That's the most runs she has posted since back in February. Another player making a difference was Peyton Dees, who got on base in three of her five plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.
Spring Hill's win bumped their record up to 19-5. As for Henderson, their victory bumped their record up to 14-7-1.
Thursday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Henderson hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .321. However, it's not like Spring Hill struggles in that department as they've averaged .457. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Henderson got the 'W' in their previous meeting back in April of 2025 against Spring Hill by a conclusive 11-1 score. Will the Lions repeat their success, or do the Panthers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
