Basketball Recap: Make It Seven in a Row for Steinbrenner

Steinbrenner put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They took their game with ease, bagging a 67-28 win over the Robinson Knights. Fans of the Warriors have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 20+ points.

Steinbrenner got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Naomi Parker out in front who shot 5-for-7 from deep and dropped a double-double on 25 points and ten boards. The matchup was Parker's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Sarah Coble, who went 8 of 17 on her way to 19 points in addition to eight boards and four steals.

Steinbrenner smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 13 offensive rebounds in seven consecutive contests.

Robinson lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Natalie Ashburn, who posted six points along with six rebounds and three blocks. Ashburn is on a roll when it comes to blocks, as she's now posted three or more in the last five games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Ava Godfrey, who put up eight points and five assists.

Steinbrenner pushed their record up to 7-0 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 12.2 points per game. As for Robinson, their loss dropped their record down to 5-2.

Steinbrenner didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, an 86-18 victory against King on the 11th. As for Robinson, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 41-34 win against Hillsborough on the 11th.
