Brownsburg and Noblesville are an even 5-5 against one another since September of 2016, but not for long. The Bulldogs will be playing at home against the Millers at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
Brownsburg is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Indiana's top teams: Roncalli, who was ranked fourth at the time (Brownsburg was ranked sixth). The Bulldogs fell just short of the Royals by a score of 3-2 on Tuesday. The Bulldogs' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.
Brownsburg couldn't get the win, but they sure gave Roncalli a tough time in the third set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 25-27, 29-31, 25-22, 17-15.
Meanwhile, Noblesville posted their closest victory since September 4th on Monday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against New Palestine, sneaking past 3-2. The win continues a trend for the Millers in their matchups with the Dragons: they've now won four in a row.
Noblesville wouldn't go down easily and took New Palestine into a fifth set where they got it done with a two-point win. The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 25-21, 23-25, 22-25, 17-15.
Noblesville had a senior duo take command as Miranda Bledsoe had 14 digs and five aces and Maggie Hall had 12 digs and two aces.
Noblesville was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 12 aces. They are 8-1 when they serve at least ten aces.
Noblesville's victory bumped their record up to 16-10. As for Brownsburg, their defeat dropped their record down to 17-6.
Brownsburg was able to grind out a solid win over Noblesville when the teams last played back in October of 2024, winning 3-1. Will the Bulldogs repeat their success, or do the Millers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
