Basketball Recap: Hawthorne Piles Up the Points Against Environmental Charter

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Hawthorne). They blew past the Environmental Charter White Tigers 63-31 on Friday. While the Cougars didn't have the best season last year (they finished 9-12), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

It was another big night for Kyron Blanchette, who posted 21 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Bruce Perez, who scored 13 points.

The victory made it two in a row for Hawthorne and bumps their season record up to 4-1.

Looking ahead, Hawthorne will challenge Rosemead at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Cougars are facing the Panthers at the right time seeing as the Panthers are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Environmental Charter, they will head out to square off against Compton Early College at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
