Brady Turek of Hemingford ran for the longest rushing play in D1 District 10 (8 Man) this season against Stapleton/McPherson County last week. Turek's team topped the Cyclones as he sprinted for 63 yards on the play and finished with 92 in all.
Paxton extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Morrill, 62-22. The victory was the fifth in a row for the Tigers.
Hemingford's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Matthew Wood threw for 195 and three touchdowns and Ethan Skinner had 68 yards receiving. On the ground Skinner chipped in 109 yards. Kyle Kumpf helped Hemingford's passing attack out by catching two balls for 51 yards.
Trevor Benge made the biggest impact on defense this week as Jordan Haas's team bested Stapleton/McPherson County. The junior recorded one fumble.
Hemingford's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Bobcats feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Wood has thrown for 641 yards and 11 touchdowns this season, while Colt Foster has 10 catches for 258 yards. Skinner leads the league in rushing with 427 yards.
The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when Paxton takes on the Bobcats. Mike Morland's team has allowed 105 points this season, while Hemingford has given up 24.
Maxwell led D1 District 10 (8 Man) in scoring this week after putting up 69 points on Sutherland.
