DENVER - The Colorado High School Activities Association's 2024 Ice Hockey State Champions were crowned on Tuesday at the University of Denver's Magness Arena.
In the 4A state championship, Durango sunk an empty-net goal as time expired to secure a 4-2 victory over Summit and notch the program's first-ever state championship in just its second season of existence. It was both 4A teams' first-ever state championship game in ice hockey.
Following the 4A title game, Valor Christian and Regis Jesuit battled it out for 5A supremacy, with Regis emerging victorious, 3-1. The win marks the seventh ice hockey state title in program history -- the second-most of any CHSAA ice hockey program, and the most of any 5A CHSAA ice hockey program.
