They came out on top against Hughson by a score of 53-42. Given Orestimba's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 297th, while Hughson is ranked 710th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Orestimba to victory, but perhaps none more so than Caleb Marin dominguez, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 12 rebounds. The match was Marin dominguez's third in a row with at least ten points. Blake Melo was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with three steals.
Orestimba's victory bumped their record up to 9-2. As for Hughson, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-5.
Orestimba will finish 2023 at home by hosting Argonaut at 7:00 p.m. on December 27th. As for Hughson, they will head out on the road to face off against Johansen at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
