Frontier is 2-8 against the Patriots since January of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Frontier Titans will look to defend their home court against the Liberty Patriots at 6:30 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the pair posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Frontier entered their tilt with the Mustangs with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Frontier walked away with a 55-45 win over the Mustangs on Friday. Given Frontier's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 253rd, while the Mustangs are ranked 536th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Frontier's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Zach Garnett led the charge by scoring 17 points along with five rebounds. Garnett hasn't dropped below 17 points for five straight games. Logan Frisch was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with eight assists.
Meanwhile, Liberty came up short against the Golden Hawks on Friday and fell 67-59. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Liberty in their matchups with the Golden Hawks: they've now lost eight in a row.
Frontier has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 20-6 record this season. As for Liberty, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-13.
Frontier won a game that couldn't have been any closer in their previous meeting back in January, slipping by the Patriots 53-52. Does Frontier have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Patriots turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
