Was it was an Instant Classic or an Instant Replay?
Host Mission Viejo and Servite played one of those classic Southern Section Division 1 games that was memorable in every way. Except it was very similar to the first-round game it had played two years earlier.
On Friday, two touchdown runs by Jacquez Robertson and a punishing ground game led the Los Angeles' region's third-ranked team to a 38-35 win over No. 5 Servite.

On Friday, Mission Viejo survived the heroics of Servite sophomore quarterback Noah Fifita who threw three touchdown passes to Tetairoa McMillan, one of 43 yards, the others 11 and 10 as the Friars finished 7-4.
Mission Viejo, which never trailed, improved to 11-0 and now face the nation's top-ranked team, Mater Dei, a 63-23 winner over No. 9 Bishop Amat.
Mission Viejo also got 1-yard TD runs by Tyson Scott and Easton Mascarenas and an 18-yard TD runb y quarterback Peter Costelli. The Diablos will need to continue to control the clock against Mater Dei.
