Steamboat Springs waltzed into their contest on Saturday with four straight wins but they left with five. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Summit 56-28 at home. The score was close at the half, but Steamboat Springs pulled away in the second half with 31 points.
Steamboat Springs' success was spearheaded by the efforts of Brandon Kolb, who scored eight points along with three blocks, and Brady Adams, who scored 11 points along with six assists. Adams continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played.
Meanwhile, things could have been worse for Moffat County, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 78-60 loss to Delta on Saturday. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Moffat County in their matchups with Delta: they've now lost six in a row.
Despite their loss, Moffat County saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Evan Beaver, who scored 13 points along with two steals, was perhaps the best of all. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Beaver has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Ian Champ hafey, who scored 16 points along with eight rebounds.
Steamboat Springs is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 12-9 record this season. As for Moffat County, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-12.
Steamboat Springs beat Moffat County 49-41 in their previous meeting back in January. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Champ hafey, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 13 rebounds.
