The Monrovia Bulldogs entered their tilt with the Owen Valley Patriots with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Monrovia came out on top against Owen Valley by a score of 60-51 on Friday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Monrovia also won the last time the pair played back in February of 2023.
Monrovia's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Clay Tharp led the charge by dropping a double-double on 18 points and 11 rebounds. Tharp hasn't dropped below nine rebounds for four straight games. Another player making a difference was Hayden Mccloud, who scored 16 points along with seven rebounds.
Monrovia is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-10 record this season. As for Owen Valley, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-13 record this season.
Monrovia didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 71-41 victory vs. Indianapolis Scecina Memorial on the 10th. Owen Valley will be playing at home against Greencastle at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
