Basketball Recap: Community Academy of Philadelphia Starts Season with Win on the Road

Community Academy of Philadelphia had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They pulled ahead with a 26-25 photo finish over Varsity Opponent on Thursday. The score was all tied up 12-12 at the break, but the Bruins were the better team in the second half.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Community Academy of Philadelphia to victory, but perhaps none more so than Malak Hamdou, who posted eight points. Another player making a difference was Zianii Polanco, who earned eight points.

Community Academy of Philadelphia will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Girard College at 4:00 p.m. on December 1. As for Varsity Opponent, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 43-12 victory against Hillcrest Christian on the 20th.
