North Callaway has played every game this season on their home court, but they'll have to hit the road on Tuesday. They will take on the Hallsville Indians at 7:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Last Friday, North Callaway humbled Silex with a 78-47 victory. With that victory, North Callaway brought their scoring average up to 61 points per game.
Sam Pezold had an outrageously good game as he scored 27 points along with 6 steals. That makes it two consecutive games in which he has scored at least 25% of North Callaway's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Austin Brown, who scored 12 points along with 8 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Hallsville had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 26.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They took their match at home with ease, bagging a 60-31 win over South Shelby. Given Hallsville's advantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 29th, while South Shelby is ranked 233rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
The losses dropped North Callaway to 1-1 and Silex to 0-2.
North Callaway might still be hurting after the 68-43 loss they got from Hallsville in their previous matchup back in December of 2022. Can North Callaway avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
