Dublin Scioto is on an eight-game streak of home wins, while Hayes is on a seven-game streak of away wins (dating back to last season): one of those streaks is about to end. The Irish will welcome the Pacers at 5:15 p.m. on Monday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Dublin Scioto's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. They blew past Westland 10-0. The victory continues a trend for the Irish in their matchups with the Cougars: they've now won four in a row.

Alexis Richie made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out 15 over five innings pitched. Those 15 strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Maria Wasko, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Ella Sawin was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.
Dublin Scioto was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .321 or higher in five consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Hayes won against Worthington Kilbourne on Wednesday with 16 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Thursday. The Pacers beat Westerville South by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 16-4.
Like Dublin Scioto, Hayes also got a great game from a two-way player: Hannah McAllister. On the mound, she struck out ten batters over five innings while giving up four earned runs off five hits. McAllister has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in ten consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two RBI.
In other batting news, Lizzy Gould was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Taylor Flynn, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Dublin Scioto's win bumped their record up to 13-2. As for Hayes, their victory bumped their record up to 16-1.
Monday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Dublin Scioto hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .410. However, it's not like Hayes struggles in that department as they've averaged .367. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Dublin Scioto couldn't quite get it done against Hayes in their previous meeting on April 10th as they fell 5-0. Will the Irish have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other softball content.
