The Bonduel Bears will venture away from home to face off against the Almond-Bancroft Eagles at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Bonduel comes in on 12 and Almond-Bancroft on ten.
On Thursday, Bonduel made easy work of Menominee Nation and carried off a 16-1 win. The Bears might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 13 contests by seven runs or more this season.
Kallie Wilcox made a big impact no matter where she played. She struck out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
In other batting news, Marlie Hartmann was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Gracyn Wudtke was another key player, going 1-for-2 with three runs, one double, and one RBI.
Bonduel always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .621. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Menominee Nation only posted an OBP of .100.
Crivitz typically has all the answers at home, but on Tuesday Almond-Bancroft proved too difficult a challenge. They came out on top against the Wolverines by a score of 4-1.
The team relied heavily on Sophia Chapa, who went 1-for-2 with one home run. That home run was her first of the season.
Bonduel's record is now 19-1. As for Almond-Bancroft, their record now sits at 16-1.
Friday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Bonduel hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .390. However, it's not like Almond-Bancroft struggles in that department as they've averaged .364. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Bonduel suffered a grim 12-1 defeat to Almond-Bancroft in their previous meeting back in April of 2025. Can the Bears avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
